This post is going to serve as a "test post" just to make sure all appears to be functioning well and also to throw out a few perks of your new license to stalk! If you received this post via email, then that means you were successfully added to my "Hopping Hemispheres" mailing list. Hooray for you! So, as you've probably figured out, you could technically keep up with my escapades just through checking your email (or deleting them if you choose...) rather than following the site. However, I personally think that the site is much more fun and user friendly. As you can see, there is a tab for photos which is currently empty, a tab for followers, a twitter tab (yes... I'm an enthusiast), and a section at the bottom for all of those who use Skype to add me. So, if you'd like, you can also follow me directly on the site by adding yourself as a follower, which I hope you all do! I'm going to try and keep an UTD flow of photos, stories, and the occasional video so report back to the site for happy little tidbits of childhood wonder. Although I've yet to figure out my phone situation, I'm likely going to stick with a blackberry. Thus if any of my lovely followers would like to keep in touch, Skype will be extremely handy and cost efficient! I am also a big fan of IChat and my screen name is HOPSKI424 for those of you who just HAVE to get a glimpse of me from time to time. All of my close friends know that I tend to fall off the face of the Earth in terms of communication via phones and such... but I'm going to try my hardest to stay in touch I promise ;)
So up to this point, life has felt reasonably dull because of the long awaited journey to Cape Town which takes place in less than 3 weeks! Excitement is more than just an understated emotion at this point. This type of fervor totally surpasses Christie Alley's dream to fit into a swim suit after "Look Who's Talking Too." For the past 2 months I have felt like a walking, talking science experiment because of all the doctors appointments and such... for a kid who has always been afraid of ODing on Tylenol, I've grown quite fond and familiar of the friendly lab coat staff at the local clinic. All my fellow study abroad-ers (p.s. my grammar has its own mind so just learn to love it folks) know what I'm talking about. I had what I hope was my last round of vaccines today (technically yesterday given that I'm sending this at 2am), Yellow Fever, Typhoid, and the much loved Flu shot. I swear I'm radioactive now. Slowly but surely I'm starting to pack... something of which was NEVER a strong suit of mine. But the show must go on! Anyhow, my insomnia is starting to wain in the wee hours of this already hot and humid Texas morning, but I'll be shooting a new update out in another week or two before the big adventure to NYC where I will link up with Regan so that we can start our voyage on the 11th!!!!!!!
Love, hugs, kisses, and a snuggle ;^)
